Great news webmasters, Google has recently updated their PageRank database. For those of you running community sites/blogs for quite some time, go check your PR NOW! lol. I've a pretty useful tool in the utilities section for you to do so: Clickie Here!
If you've no idea what Google's PageRank system is, its basically Google's algorithm for sorting websites based on their popularity (in simple terms). More information can be found here.
Having a higher PageRank-ed website gives you a competitive advantage over other websites, especially when searching for very general keywords. For example, if I search for the term 'music', Google will tend to place the higher pageranked sites first. Of course other factors are taken into consideration such as keyword density and such.
